  • Water pump replacement ??

I am going to be replacing the water pump on my 289 while I have it out of the Daytona. Recently someone on the forum advised a person to change to an Avanti water pump. Is this a good heavy duty move to get longer life from the replacement or is it unnecessary in a street driven, non R car?

You can't just add the Avanti pump, it won't fit your fan. Most of the vendors carry the heavy duty pump for the regular V8..

What does the heavy duty water pump consist of? Larger bearings?
