  • JDP - You know this truck?

I just saw a '54 pickup on e-Bay in Annapolis. Do you know anything about it?

Any idea what those little lights are at each end of the front bumper?

        Actually Chris, a '54 would be a 3R series. "E" started in 1955.

[)]Mark,I'll bet he's got those rigged as turn signals. I also notice it's been converted to a 12 volt alternator set up.[)]

You are probably right Steve, I've never had a '54, but I might have tried putting the turn signals in with the parking lights under the headlamps.

Those lights may be for turn signals, but I have seen small driving lights made like that. The truck is advertised as restored, but it has some unusual features that didn't come from the factory. The wooden speaker grille looks out of place with the rest of the dash, but unless it is hiding a big ugly hole it's no big deal. If the truck is as nice as it appears it would be a fun vehicle.

There is a very similar 1954 3R pickup for sale in Connecticut that is in the July Turning Wheels. Both pickups even appear to have 1954-1955 car full wheelcovers. I had to go back and check my TW to be sure they weren't the same truck.
