I only had enough time this past weekend to remove one front drum/hub from the front of my 55 truck for a look inside. After a quick check I had to replace the drum/hub so I could move the truck.I found no unpleasant suprises . One thing I did notice was one of the adjusting cams was loose enough that I turned it with my fingers. Now I'm wondering ... Are the holes in the backing plate threaded ? I know about the locking nuts on the back side of the plate . I think if the holes are threaded I have a problem. Thanks.[?]

The holes aren't threaded. What holds the adjusters after you get them where you want, is that locknut.
