  • float adjustment, carb

I am working with a friend on his WA-1 Carter Carb. The float needs to be adjusted. Directions say adjust using the 'Float Lip.' Where is the Lip? The entire mass off the float body?

I can't find a good illustration of the WA but on the WE the lip refers to the small extension just in from the pivot point that contacts the needle itself. WA and WE are basically the same.(at least according to my Motors manual)

I thought the lip was a tang opposite from the float body on the other side of the pin; it's used to control float drop.

I sure that term is applied differently in different carbs.
My book makes no mention of float drop adjustment in this carb The lip is referenced only in the float level adjustment.
