  • Trans insulator installation

I ordered an insulator for my Flight-o-matic and tried to install it today I winded up tearing it up because it just would not go into the hole on the lever. I cut most of the lip off of it and got in into the hole however even after I adjusted the shift rod it would not go into park. It will go into park if I move the lever from under the car just not by the gear shift inside[V]I don't know what to try next, anyone ever have this problem?

That pretty much narrows it down to wear on the Detent housing under the steering wheel, the shift tube, the shift lever or the lever on the column under the hood!
