I was fortunate enough to score one of Nimesh's beautiful R3 tachs a few months ago.

Then, I ran across this. A left sweep 180MPH SW speedo.

Did a little overhaul, and presto-chango, an R"X" pair of gauges.

I don't remember ever seeing a speedometer with a counter clock wise sweep. Does it have an adapter to reverse the speedometer cable rotation?

Yes, there is an adapter block that reverses the rotation.

Why did an R3 tach have a painted on red line AND a movable pointer redline?

Red line and shift point can be two different points.

1963 Studebaker Avanti: C4 Corvette narrowed front/rear suspension, C5 13" calipers/rotors adapted to C4, Viper differential with Intrax 3.54 ratio (the snake has been charmed!), coil overs, stainless tubular frame, stainless chambered side exhaust.
