  • I could be in danger of losing my Studebaker.

My wife has never been real crazy about my "hobby" cars but she's been pretty cool about the Stude, even buying me a Dale Klees priint for my B-Day but all that may be in jeopardy. I walked past her PC the other day and she has a picture of it as her desktop background [:0], good thing she can't drive a stick...........[8D]

Your hobby becomes more expensive when she finds a nice automatic drive Cruiser or, worse yet, Speedster.[:0] But, you're in no danger of loosing what you've got if hers is nicer than yours.

Go get her a sweet running, rust-free circa 1960 Lark Convertible, in order to take her mind off of your car. Seriously though: you are a Lucky Man.

Show her an Avanti and she may be hooked.
I can't believe the way women love that car.

Yep. My grandma has an Avanti. And a GT Hawk. And a M5 pickup. And a couple Brand X's as well. [8D]

I advertised my '53 sedan to make room and help finance my recent purchase, a '57 GH. My wife said that I should keep the '53 but now she is telling everyone that the '57 is her car may be she will let me drive occasionally, once I have it restored

Glen, there are many great Studebakers that women fall in love with. My lovely lady will drive my Avantis and loves the looks she gets as she drives them. She likes my 63 GT Hawk but can't drive it as it is a 4-spd. Matt she loves it when we take the truck also but again can't drive it as it is a manual 3-spd. My goal is to buy her what she wants as soon as she finds it.

My lady fell in love 'in' a Studebaker, but I double dog dare anyone to ask her to tell them about it

Sounds like you hit on an idea for a special theme issue of Turning Wheels.

My wife, Cathy, and I both only had Studebakers when we met. Cathy can drive anything - standard on the column, four speed on the floor, no power steering, etc.
