Is it okay to use resistor plugs in my R1 Avanti? How are they differant from regular plugs?

Yes it is fine. There will be no difference in the way the car runs. The combustion process will never know the difference.
The difference is inside the core of the plug. It's designed to remove or lessen the radio interference comming from the system. The same way the current radially wrapped spark plug wires lessen the RFI.
