The C3 means the Deluxe model, which has the black. A C5 means Regal, which has the chrome.

Thank you "raoul5788"! Now I know. But, through my reading, I was led to believe that a Regal (C5) had the chrome around the side windows too? Where can I find the info., that you have, on these part number differences?

                Thanks

I noticed your signature picture in another post. You have a beautiful looking Studebaker.
                    The black looks great.

Occasionally I have to look this picture up and hope my 53 looks this good one day.

A picture of a '53 or '54 always makes my day even if I have seen it before.
