My boss' dad parked a 1962 Lark outside of our business, three years ago. I offered to buy it the day he brought it here, but he said he wanted to work on it. Three long years go by, poor thing abandoned...and I finally hear (through the grapevine!) that he's going to sell it.
He didn't want to sell it to a girl, particularly one that didn't know a valve stem from a spark plug, but I nagged him and promised him I'd take care of it and love it and learn everything I could! He finally gave in, and today we signed the bill of sale.
So I'm totally psyched that for $600, I own a 1962 Lark, Studebaker engine, 34k original miles, parked indoors for 30 years, original everything. It's got minute specks of rust, but other than that the body is fantastic. I'm so excited, I might just pee.
I know nothing about cars. Matter of fact, I'm gonna come clean here - I have never in my life even pumped gas, and I'm 37. How's that for Princess? But I'll get dirty with this baby!
Once I get started, I'll probably be posting questions on an hourly basis, so just thought I'd say hi! [8D]
