Could someone please advise me as to where I can find the VIN numbers on my 1960 Studebaker Hawk, besides the VIN plate on the door post???

That IS the ONLY Vin number for the Hawk....
Out on the firewall (under the hood)- directly in front of the passenger- there should be a 4" long tag that has the BODY number it should read something like 60V-C5 XXXX. This is not a VIN... only the sequential body number of the car.

There "might" be a legible VIN number (that matches the door post) stamped into the rear trunk crossmember. Often it cannot be found... so don't worry if it's not there.

Ray meant the rear FRAME cross-member. They lightly stamped the car's serial number into the the rear crossmember's rearmost flange. With some light sanding/scuffing, you might be able to find it. If there's been significant rust tho, it's gonna be tough to see.
Of course, having been stamped into the metal, there ARE techniques available that could ressurect what's there.:D

Biggs...left side, right side? If you're lying on the ground facing forward toward the diff, where should that vin be visable? Is it the same for '60 Larks?

It's about in the middle of that crossmember. Same for Larks. Here's what you are looking for...

Thanks, Dick;
My back is twisted just looking at that shot you had to crawl down there to get!
Much appreciated. My car is in the body shop getting the hood painted. I'll check it out when I get it back next week. Arizona car..should be visable. Your's looks like it's brand new down there..
