Down at ye ol' SASCO on Sample St. Dennis has shop open in the front and the swap meet is 'round in the rear. Just walk the length of the building to the back and through the tunnel in the rear or follow the smell of hotdogs down the hallway in the back(food in the back), and its all over in there, inside and out[:o)]. It's also down at St. Joseph Fairgrounds where the Concours for the International meet was held last year. It is also where the car show will also be held.

Here is a bit of a hot topic.I am thinking of going to SB as a vendor,as usual. However,I didnt attend the Jefferson swap meet in WI. this year for the first time in 17 years for 3 reasons.1)Doing the math it was a case of having close to $700 invested in the trip before I sold a part.2)Been hearing rumors that while vendor participation at swaps has been good, buyers have decreased.3)The answer or cause to the above is that I can sit at home and sell without the cost and so can buyers. From various vendors I talked to Jefferson was way down in buyers, heard rumors that Pate was down, there was chatter that York was low on buyers this spring.I'm wobbling a bit on SB...still deciding if it's going to be worth the drive (10 hours one way)or am I going to be doing mostly vendor to vendor sales.I dont plan on bringing any small items but a bunch of NOS or really clean sheetmetal and '56 GH stuff.

On the fence Bob

Bring on the good '56 GH stuff. I'll be at SASCO by 7:45 am on Friday.

I would think, depending on one's vehicle's capacity, sheet metal and other large things like drivetrain would be the best to bring. Everything else would probably be better listed on eBay.

I have mixed feelings, though. The meets are, at least for me, about a lot more than swapping parts. So whats the best answer? I don't know. But I do hope vendors can continue to be willing/able to vend.

Well I made up my mind I was heading to South Bend so I loaded the ol' Suburban up.Here is a list of what's in it.
'56 Hawk hood
'56 Hawk grille
'56 GH radiator and shroud for a automatic
'56 rear fins
'56 GH dash complete w/ tach
'56 GH rear of the roof chrome hoop
'53 C/K rust free front fenders(right and left) w/inner fenders
C/K rust free rear fenders(right and left)
pair of '53-54 front air dams
NOS '57-61 hood(still not sure what year)
NOS '64 Hawk drivers front fender w/bezel
'63 Hawk dash complete,160 speedo and tach
'55 and '56 clean gas tanks

Amazing what can fit inside there.Everything wrapped up and secure.
Headed back home and thought the steering felt funny...I was going to check on that for a week or two because it felt just like right before the upper ball joint went south on my other Suburban.Sure enough I got home and checked...right front upper ball joint went to hell.Dang truck only has 247,000 miles on it!

Anyway...no South Bend trip for me but at least those who will be there know what I was going to bring. My own fault for getting lazy on checking out a issue with the truck.

Bit the bullet and had the truck fixed by a shop. Not sure when I'll get to SASCO but probably 2-3 tomorrow afternoon.Silver and Blue Suburban so when you see it arrive dont be shy.Found space for a NOS 56-up lower air dam and per a email request pulled out the '53 fenders but replaced those with a nice pair of '55 C/K front fenders.
