I started work on this car in Feb of 2008. My wife got sick and I stopped work for a few years, but I got back into it this winter. While I built a chassis up, the body shop threw some paint on the sheet metal and tonight I dropped the painted body on the rolling chassis. Now I have a good start on a winter project.

This rig started as a 55 coupe. The battery had broken and rotted the firewall, floors and frame under it. I replaced all the floors and quarters and doors and fixed the front fenders and found a frame and engine from another 55 Hardtop. I have all the nose parts to make it a 53 and a red leather 55 interior is on order. The only non stock item is the T5 transmission.

Not only "spot welds," but tack welds, and seam welds as well.
I've enjoyed the pics. Looks like a real "downhome" project by someone with serious skills.
I'll look forward to new pics as you progress.

Today we put in the rear window. Was pretty painless and looks good. The seats should be stuffed in a couple weeks so I hope to be crusin' by the end of the month. Pictures at this link.
