  • Model 44 brake interchange question..HELP!

Yes, but you have to cut center hole larger for bearing to slip through plate, as you would with a Fairborn replacement. The drums should work as they are piloted to studs not center. I have used front drums on mine as well as tapered axle drums. In my experience they have fit snugly on the studs

    Model 44 brake interchange question..HELP!

Ok,no one is quite sure of the answer,so I will ask the collective intelligence of the Forum. And I am in no way slamming anyone who may have answered me already on this question.
Can a person take off the backing plate/shoe assembly and drums off of a TAPERED model 44 and use them on a FLANGED model 44? If NOT...WHY? And if YES...what did you have to modify to make it work?? THANKS for the input!!!
