After the recent snow friday before last, It was seeming that spring would never come :(. There is STILL some snow hiding in the treelines and north sides of some buildings but its been pretty decent the past week. Yesterday was darn nice so I spent some time cleaning the garage. Today, I checked over the '53 and took it out for a spin.

I found this lonely stretch of road a few miles from home. I liked the contrast of the green car with the brown and black of the landscape. Spring can't be too far off, I saw a farmer out working the fields.

I think the colors on you car are the same as the first Studebaker I bought, except someone had painted the cove.

It is real interesting to see another part of the USA that I am not familiar with. You will never see such a wide open road and fields in Virginia. Your pictures are beautiful.

:) [:0]'Anyone ever studied a picture of a 53/54 K-body painted like Leonard's and noticed how the swoop of the cove is identical to the "C" pillar of the roof? That's a styling cue you don't see unless the cove is painted a contrasting color. Further evidence of the cars's beautiful design. :DBP

Thanks for all the kind comments. Yup, the Red River Valley is pretty open and flat. Old glacial lake bed. Farms are large and far between. No trees except along rivers and farm building sites. Here is another view:

The car is "chippewa" green and "lombard" green. Sort of a minty green on the bottom and a very dark top. Sure looks like Leonard's old '53 was the same colors. The other '53 green, like Gary's car, is more medium. Seems to me there were 4?? different shades of green on '53's. Don't have any paint color charts handy to look though.

Mine is Tahoe Green with Olympic Gray top. Chippewa, Lombard, and Tahoe that's three greens for '53.
