This is another from the Marine Wolf estate - it's been in the barn for years and years.
Now it can be yours, want it?

That's definitely a cool car...

We have a member in our chapter that has an identical one, only a little nicer. ;) I think I remember the interior was original on this one, and it was pretty low miles as well.

When it was in the barn, I couldn't even see the car - Marine had cardboard and hardboard stacked on top, and tall stuff leaning up against it. It was entombed in his junk.
There is another old Stude coupe in the barn that I have only been told of.

For those interested in this '29 President, in the barn full of NOS parts, there is a spanking new headlight bar w/headlight buckets, and that shiny "8" floating between them.

I can't cut & paste the darn pic for you, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the hundred or so pics - you'll find it in the crate nestled in bubble wrap. Here's the link -

I think it's interesting that Two of these cars would show up the same time on ebay. Does anyone know the total production figures for these?

Hardly a match - one's completely restored, and the other's completely in need of one.

My statement didn't in any way say that they were a match. All I was trying to point out is that they were both top line Presidents in a rare, dual sidemounted body style. They are the same body and model aren't they?

According to both eBay pages, they were both States, but my source on the Marine Wolf President says it's really a Regal.
Small difference, I know.

While I'm sure it's not the popular opinion, two words came to mind looking at it;

HOT ROD!

A nice Stude straight eight with a chopped top would look great. I'd leave the fenders on or sell the fronts and get a set without the side mounts (though I've seen a '31 Caddy that had the side mounts converted to luggage space).

I keep waiting to see a great '25-'34 Stude rod and that car would fit the bill nicely.

Guess what? (good news)
The new owner of this President emailed me after doing a search for 1929 Studebaker President parts, and the threads here on the SDC Forum showed up.
He has just joined the SDC, and after contacting me has decided to restore it instead of rodding it.
Hopefully, he will soon join the ASC as well, and find a local chapter (in Texas), and commence work on the car.
Perhaps we'll see this at a Stude meet someday, identified as a survivor of the "Marine Wolf Collection".
