55 President Motor Mounts

I was building a dolly for my engine and was checking the distance between the holes on the front motor mounts on the cars frame...that is when I got a surprise. There are 2 sets of holes (I hadn't noticed it before). I was able to distinguish, by the imprint left by the motor mounts, that the passenger side went into the outboard hole and the drivers side went into the inboard hole. Is this the way it is supposed to be?? Can it (the engine) go back in the wrong holes by mistake... or should I write this down so I won't forget a year or so down the road!!?

They were built like that for right hand or left hand driver, you offset it to right if you are on the left side driving it and if you are from England you put them in the left set of holes.
