I have one of those with the fluid still in it. What are they worth?

Funny you should mention the missing label studerich. Several months ago bondobilly was kind enough to create exact replicas of the kleerview sticker that goes on these bottles for studebaker. I believe I still have about 14 of these stickers somewhere and have six of the triangular bottles with these decals. He did such a great job!

I thought someone said these where on Ebay and fetched $90+. These are available for $42.95 at National Parts Depot as a Chevelle part (PN# C-10154-21A). They come as you see it, with the bracket and cap. The decal is up to you. With BB suppling the decal, you'll have a correct jar for less than half of an Ebay price.

GM cars used this same bottle and bracket for many years. My Classic Industries catalog (GM restoration parts and accessories) has the set for $39.95. They also offer Kleerview bottle decals that are probably the same as the Studebaker one for $3.95 (although Bill's is probably nicer :)).

The folks offering these on eBay for twice the catalog price are just like Studebaker folks doing the same thing with Studebaker parts from SI or SASCO. They feel they can catch a "newbie" without the knowledge of the parts network and make a nice profit.

Actually, most parts offered on ebay that come from vendors are offered with a starting bid at or slightly under retail. Many ebay'ers have no idea that Studebaker vendors exist, so they get the needed part on ebay, and two vendors make a profit.
Had I have seen the bottle in question, I might have bid over retail myself since I did not have a clue as to where to find one.

Which is why I posted this. I wasn't sure if the Studebaker vendors were selling these or not (I had not seen them) and didn't want to direct away from one to a 'GM' supplier if they were commonly available. I already contacted Bill for a label and will attach it when it arrives. I'll probably just leave the fluid blue when the time comes, as it'll probably get used...[:o)]

These are commonly listed under Corvair eBay listings. One GM supplier was offering a supply of them N.O.S. out of the original case with the original GM stickers while I was doing my Corvair two years ago. They often pop up stickerless under a Corvair eBay search and sell reasonably. I've seen the offered with and without the bracket when offered used.

They are significant to a Corvair guy, because they are one of the few details to be found in the mostly empty front trunk.

I don't doubt there's other vendors. I just hate to see our guys (or gals) paying an inflated Ebay price for one, especially when you can get the bracket too. With all the decals BondoBilly made and passed out early last year, I think there are a lot of decals needing a bottle to put them on [8D].

Here is mine that I have mounted in the 1961 Lark. It is mounted on the passenger side of the engine compartment as I was told this is where it might have been placed. The label is indeed one of those fine reproductions from Bondo Billy!
