  • Quick Question RE: 6V

Does one need a 6V charger to charge a 6V battery, or will a normal charger work?

You need to use a charger capable of charging a 6 volt battery, such as one that has switch to change to 6 or 12 volt as needed

Yes, you need a 6V charger. It seems as though they are not very common anymore. It is ONLY a half Century since most cars switched to 12 volts <G>.

If you can't locate one, I have a spare 6V/12V battery charger, that works. The case is bent, but the unit works okay. I believe that it is only a three amp unit, but if you have time it works fine. I would sell it to YOU for $15 plus $10 to ship it to you.
