Thanks for posting the pictures. I couldn't make it to York because I'm home with a terrible cold. Can't stop coughing. It too shall pass. Anyway, I'll make it next year.
By the way, is the '51 2-door a Commander or Champion?

I am going to have to say that my favorite picture is the Lark wagon! I know it sounds strange, I should be ogling over the "nice finished" ones, but I have special place in my heart for unfinished "ugly" cars. Especially station wagons...and especially Larks. I honestly could see myself driving that just the way it is. Wow, I'm bad!!

She may have bugs and she may have dings, but that just proves I drive this thing!!

That Commander 2Dr. Sedan is most likely a 1966 Canadian Commander. That was a stock (sic) colour! It has the body side mouldings and front fender emblem of '66 also, even though it has the better looking '64 Grille.

That is one BEAUTIFUL '53 Commmander Starlight in the first pic, unquestionably the best car there! [^][:p]

Thank you for posting the pictures. I missed the red '53. I took pictures but can't use the memory card in my note book. There was a black and white '58 Scotsman on the parking lot with a not for sale sign. I'll post pictures tomorrow night.

This was my first time to attend York. I enjoyed the meet very much and hope to attend again next year. Thank you to all that had anything to do with puting on such a great swap meet.

I was only there today. I won't be there tomorrow or Sunday. I'm going to Atlantic City for the car auction/show tomorrow. I didn't get any pics from inside the hall. I was to busy looking for parts. I think tomorrow will be a better day for cars at York. The weather is suposed to be a little better.

Jeff, you are correct. More cars and more people tomorrow. We haven't done a good job of letting people know we are open for business on Friday earlier in the day than in the past. We will get it correct one year as we have only been trying for 30+ years. DJ

Thanks for the pictures

See you in the future as I write about our past

Hey all! Just got back to my room from the STF dinner; great time!

Tom- The Commander is a 6 cyl. 3spd., bottom of fenders starting to swell, interior fair- price $8500

Rich- The 53 Starlight was pretty, just wavy on the sides; but a beaut just the same!

The black truck was George O's 58 Scotsman 4x4. He used it to haul the Wagonaire pictured, which he sold. Here it is:

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/bams50/York%2008/York08037.jpg

See my album for lots of other pics here:

http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/bams50/York%2008/?start=20

Am taking picture requests and if you have any questions about any pics, fire away!

Will take lots more tomorrow, and put up hopefully Sunday.

(And BTW, I bought the Wagonaire!;))

You bought a leaky, rattling, sliding roof Wagonaire? I knew you'd end up with one of those soon enough. [:o)]

Dave, that humpback wasn't for sale, just in the parking lot. Never met up with the owner, will try to today.

Near as I could tell the dash and seat looked restored, the back half was bare inside. I was SO tempted to open the hood, but of course didn't.

I'll try to get more info/pics today.

Yes that is Ford Stoeker's '37 Prez with a custom built body. And I believe it has a GM straight 6 engine. Get out one of the more recent TW's, there was a long article about it and a '46 Champion coupe that drove to Alaska and back. ;) Who cares that it's all in a couple shades of primer, the thing is on the road and probably has racked up more miles than a lot of Studes since it was built. And I do like that Packard ute.

Sure catches the flavor of the place, John. There's no way to really share it all through photos; thousands of little boxes with parts numbers; and all these pictures were in Old Main; none from Building B. Plus, it's a social event, a learning activity and a technical forum.
I overheard a guy talking to his wife. He said,"All the time I spent on Ebay and this place is one stop shopping!"
You seldom see a nearly complete Erskine sedan in the Car Corral, nor a Stude-power mahogany boat-tail speedster!
Meet concludes tomorrow with the drawing for the Keystone Raffle Car at 2:00pm. Most all vendors will be packed up well before that.

And, a side note to MB: Sorry, the C/K windshield went early.

I had a blast at York Friday...
More a social event for me as I had spent my allowance last week...
Met up with a ton of various forum members..
Went to the Studebaker Truck Farmers dinner shindig after Friday's event.
What a superb group of Stude people. Loved it.
(even bored them with some of my non-fiction Stude stories)
Jeff[8D]
PS: Left at O'dark:30 Saturday to go do another Studebaker thing....

That Commander 2Dr. Sedan is most likely a 1966 Canadian Commander. That was a stock (sic) colour! It has the body side mouldings and front fender emblem of '66 also, even though it has the better looking '64 Grille.

Rich, I must agree with you that '66 looks pretty darn good with that '64 Commander grill! [^]
