Can anyone tell me if there are available any promo or model kits for the 53 C-body. Were there any promos made?

I have never seen one. Ken Byrd (Blackhawk61) did a replica of his 61 Hawk. Here is the link.

There is a commonly available Maisto die-cast model of a K-body however; if you really need a C you might just have to modify it (see the link that Leonard posted.) I've got one sitting on my bookshelf at work, next to an Avanti and a Coupe Express :)

A few months ago I posted a link to a home based resin caster that makes one.
i'll see if I can find it. You will need the AMT kit to build. More later after I do some research.

I inquired about that C-body kit last August. Here's the reply I got:

"The 53 Studebaker is $28 plus $8.50 for shipping. That includes insurance and delivery confirmation. I accept money orders and Paypal for payment. My Paypal ID is my e-mail address. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards
Steve Kohler"

Sweet, there's a Scout II model.

I should build one for my dad. Maybe it would motivate him to restore his :)

I'm supprised no one mentioned the Revell "Miss Deal" kit. It's a 1/25 scale drag race funny car. The kit has a tube chassis and Chrysler Hemi engine. But, you could build it stock with parts from the AMT hard top kit. Google: "Miss Deal Studebaker".

The Miss Deal kit has some body modifications that will require some work to make it look stock. I think it would be ceaper in the long run to buy the resin kit.
