    Hello,
I need your help. I bought a Studebaker 2R5 in USA but with no Title.
For the firt registration in Switzerland, i need the year of the manufacture for this Pick Up.
Chassis number: R5 I05457 Model 2R5-12, South Bend, Indiana USA.

    Engine Number: 524 807-5

Is anybody has the answer, it will be great.

do you have the engine serial#? it should start with 1R.

Contact the Museum and provide them with the Chassis number. They will send you the production order.
this can be used to give definate proof of the Date of Manufacture.

It should be a 1953 model year truck. Here is a list I posted from Studebaker data.

Your actual Engine Serial Number is STAMPED into the Block at the Truck's Left side, Front corner near the Top on a flat machined Pad. The number you posted is a RAISED casting number, cast into ALL small Six blocks of that Era.

Agree with Gary. It is a 1953 model. The first serial number for 1953 2R5 models was R5-96238. Please note that Studebaker used the letter "I" to mean "1" on its serial number plates.
