View Full Version : The fifty worst cars ever made

Hmmmm. Some of these were pretty bad, but, of the two on the list that I have owned:

The Corvair was a pretty good car, except for the huge rear weight bias. You had to watch it on wet roads, or it would head for the ditch tail first. Top 50 worst? Naw.

I still own A 1996 Fleetwood. At 145K miles, it's been one of the most trouble free cars I've owned. Clumsy around town, but you can load up 5 people, fill the trunk, and cruise down the Interstate all day at 90 mph in complete quiet and comfort. I've never owned a better long distance car. I intend to drive it forever. Top 50 worst? No way, Jose.

And the original Lotus Elite's on the list? Huh? We lovers of British cars would sell our Mama for one.

And the Model T makes 50 worst? Shucks, the T put everyone on wheels, and built much of America.

This list is good for a laugh when you've got time to waste.

The list is total nonsense. I really don't know why I bothered to go through the list. The author has a very short memory. Except for three cars, there is nothing older then 1950. With over three thousand American car manufactures over 125 years, and countless foreign cars, it's simply impossible to come up with the 50 worst. There's little justification for choosing over half of his listings.

I agree, a total waste of time. Although I did learn that
the Delorean had an ALUMINUM body.

I didn't even bring it up. One guy's opinion isn't worthy of recognition. Bill

I remember one year I was in Detroit for several days working on a project for Chrysler. Several of us went out for dinner one night on the same day a "worst list" came out. I made the comment that I was disappointed to see the Eagle Premier had made the list, as I thought they were attractive cars. I got teased about that for a week....the only guy that stood up for me was a former AMC employee who had worked on the project. I do have to admit they had a pretty severe quality issue with the electrical systems.
