  • How wide is C cab seat?

Hey ya'll. I need to know how wide a C cab front seat is. I may use one for my 37 if it fits. I want something old school for the interior. I'm going to keep the dash stock, but use under dash gages and a tach. Thanks

The frame is about 53 inches wide. The slider handle sticks out about another 2 inches on the driver's side.

Really? On a C cab? WOW. I thought they would be a lot narrower than that. Looks like I need something quite earlier than a C cab, fer sher.
      Thanks for the quick reply.

Try the third row seat out of older van's, suv's, etc when they were larger than they are now. 70's - 90's

Might try a M5 seat. That cab was pretty narrow.

The seats in the Coupe Expresses were very uncomfortable .
Maybe others have made improvements and can tell us what they did.
Also post this question on the AACA studebaker forum or even the Studebaker truck talk.

Since the CE was a car body built into a truck, I would think that any front seat from that era car would fit. Probably a 4 Dr front seat was used originally, or from a 2 Dr if you needed to get behind the seat for some reason.

Why not use the fixed seat instead of the slider?

Yeah.. that's a possibility. I may use a fixed seat as I'm about the only one who'll be driving it. At 6'2" and long legged at that, It would be pretty far from the firewall. I'm almost ready to get the steering setup done. Maybe next week.
But I will check in on the AACA site to see what's out there.
