I found it interesting that it took so long to populate Australia and New Zealand. I thought all the discoverer's in their ships would have landed sooner.

Here is a link to Population , with a lot of info:.....

http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/

BTW , here in Florida , a good rule of thumb is that we have a net gain of about 1050 people PER DAY , fluctuating
up and down , depending on the state of the economy, at any given time .

Either that or it is another sign that a lot of us old dinosaurs continue to refuse to participate in completely giving ourselves up to technology.:whome: For me, the link invites me to sign up/register for a Gmail account. Maybe it means that until we sign up, we will not be able to see the intended content?

So far...I have refused to sign up for a google account of any kind, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Netflix, or any more of the gazillion identity leaking internet traps we are constantly seeing reports in the news about.:QQ: Even with all the precautions with my attempt to be cautious and safe...I have at least two free (to me) identity protection monitoring services provided by companies or government agencies who have allowed themselves to be hacked and put my personal information at risk!

I am fascinated by technology and have tried to keep up with enough of it to avoid becoming completely functionally illiterate or isolated. It is becoming increasingly difficult, but I am resisting the urge to sign up and agree for every internet platform trying to get me to agree to who knows what terms:confused: while subjecting me to what amounts to a constant electronic endoscopy and colonoscopy to share with the whole world!!!:QQ:

No offense toward the original poster (my friend), but thanks for providing me an excuse to rant.;)

Thanks, Bill. Interesting...but I'm feeling too lazy to dive deeply into the info provided. Even if I did, I'd probably be a bit skeptical of its validity and suspicious of hidden agendas. (due to a component of my Studebaker personality:rolleyes:) Therefore, my other post (rant) above still stands.:p;)
