Anthony: If you have the car and are interested in historical trivia about them, you'll want to visit The Studebaker National Museum store and buy the new 1956-1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk and Packard Hawk Monologue they just published. Click to enlarge:
With one of those, you could easily decode your tags and dozens of other curiosities you'll run across.
Your Body Tag is decoded thus:
56 = 1956 model year car
J = model designation; Golden Hawk
K = body style; 2-door hardtop
7 = trim level; premium
3302 = the 3,302nd 1956 Golden Hawk body welded up
The center photo has casting numbers that don't mean much other than to the guys in the foundry
I can't read all of the Serial Number Plate, but can read the numbers 032771. There's probably a 6 in front of the zero. That is the car's sequential legal identifier for titling, ownership, and registration purposes.
BPWe've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.
G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.

If the S/N is 603----.the car was assembled in South Bend and not Vernon (LA), as some 56 GHs were.
You can get a production order with more information about your particular car from the SNM.Gary L.

As usual, I'm a little late to the party.
The car was last registered with me by Wallace Kidd of Easton PA. He sold the car in 2010 and that was the last I knew of it.
Serial 6032771, Body 3302, Engine S3788, Paint P5634 ROMANY RED/SNOWCAP WHITE.
Anthony, I hope you will contact me.
