Just want y'all to know that I am thankful for every one of you, and the wonderful kindness and shared knowledge I have found in this club. There's a lot more I'm thankful for, but there's only so much space and I'm running low on Kleenex

My mother is 97 and in a nearby nursing facility. They have a large community room that we reserved. Since my wife and I live closest, you know who has the most responsibility to organize and get everything together. Our family is quite large but scattered over three states. This year, about 40 showed up to honor mother and celebrate Thanksgiving with her. Everyone brings a dish. I don't organize that part.

Since I don't require so much time putting on my makeup (like zero time;))...I left home early to carry ice, drinks, spare coffee maker, etc. Of course, I drove my Studebaker truck to haul the goods.:) My wife followed later with the food and a few other essentials. This facility consists of 12 cottages with an inner campus, all connected with walkways, and beautifully landscaped. This year, I was encouraged to see other groups of family gatherings with people sharing the holiday with their loved ones. When appropriate, we try to interact and acknowledge those who apparently have little or no family visits. While such places and scenes can be depressing, it serves to let us all know that everyone has something to be thankful for.

I was up at 4:30 this morning. I'm not always comfortable at big gatherings. Today, after we all said our goodbyes, cleaned up the place and got mother back in her room, I loaded up the items of my responsibility and returned home. I'm always relieved when any of my Studebakers return home under their own power.:!:

To unwind from the day, I fired up my tiller and turned under the fall weeds in my garden plots. I have now crashed into my recliner.
It was a great Thanksgiving! I wish the same for all of you regardless of how you choose to observe it.:)

Prayers for the victims of the California fires...and all others suffering from life's mayhem... and keep in mind that not all of it makes the news.
