  • '64 Hawk at Mecum

A nice appearing, white, 1964 Hawk just sold at the Mecum Las Vegas auction for $27K. They even mentioned that it was a Studebaker 289.

Thanks! I only caught part of the broadcast and missed that.
    Nice looking car: https://www.mecum.com/lots/LN1118-33...-turismo-hawk/

Found these on the Mecum site, also from the auction yesterday. It does not show what the sold cars went for.
    - 52 Commander: https://www.mecum.com/lots/LN1118-33...-state-series/
    - 51 2R5 Pickup (did not meet reserve): https://www.mecum.com/lots/LN1118-33...er-2r5-pickup/
    - 52 Commander Convertible (did not meet reserve- Estimated $90-$100K!): https://www.mecum.com/lots/LN1118-36...r-convertible/

Wonder what this 1948 Packard Woody went for. Original survivor car!

I watched a 1960 Hawk cross the block on Thursday (I believe) and they made a point of saying the 289 was NOT a Ford engine. They also said that Studebaker built high quality vehicles with great styling. Then, to top it off they said they thought Studebaker Hawks (specifically) were way under valued in the current market.
I think they may have been getting feedback from Studebaker people from past inaccurate statements. They are slowly getting their facts right.

The 52 commander went for $17,600, the 51 pickup high bid was $22,000 and did not meet reserve, and the 52 Commander convertible high bid was $52,000 but did not meet reserve.

thanks for the information. I drive and enjoy my 63 GT Hawk often. In a few weeks I'm shipping the car to Ft Lauderdale for the winter & spring. I cant wait to drive her down to South Beach and to the cigar district West of Miami, should be a great time.
