One of my long range projects is reusing my 62 Hardtop's ohv 6 in another lark and adapting the Y1 clutch area upgrades to install a T86 or better transmission instead of a T96.
What occured to me that the existing pilot in the engine crank accepts the nose of the torque converter and on the Y1 a V8 flywheel is used with the transmission pilot fitting in the back of the crank instead of in the flywheel like other sixes.
I know all of the ohv 6 crank part numbers are different depending on Y1 application but... is the crank pilot hole the same with some cranks delivered with the pilot bearing and how big is the Y1 six pilot bearing?
For what its worth I have a 62 ohv 6 with a 63 crank. I would rather have everything ready to go and fit rather than have a problem when I start assembling this driveline.
