It's always such fun driving the Avanti during the summer months. Such excitement... thrills and chills watching the temp needle edge ever closer to the 240 degree mark...such fun!!

What is a drag and a bummer, is driving the Avanti in 45 degree temps at the end of Oct.....tooling down the Long Island Expressway heading to the tip of Long Island doing 70MPH and feeling depressed that the temp gauge needle never moves above 140 degrees...........such problems such problems........I might have to sell the car to gain back my sanity:-)

Fall driving is great!:) In fact, any drive where you leave home and come back under your own power...is great!:!:

Hey!!! Why not track down Peter Lee and help him find the rattle he's been complaining about!:QQ:

If it's as bad as he says...you might just follow the noise!;)

Good one!

What do you suggest Peter Lee give him if he solves the issue? A free ice cream cone?

Yes I do....a 160. I do have to say the car has never "officially" over-heated, but watching that needle is not a thrill ride, or maybe it is???

John maybe I will do that! At 70 MPH the Avanti sounds amazing with the Don Simmons exhaust..... like a big block from one of the big three;-)

Another thing I noticed is that the tach and gas gauge took a bit longer to actually register(upon start up) with the 40 degree outside temps, I wonder if this is normal in cold weather?

Craig, not too crazy about ice cream, I'll take a case of Octane Supreme TEL additive as an alternative;-)

HL, I feel your pain. Michigan is spectacular this time of year and the temps do make driving without A/C great. Here's a shot I took from the 6th tee on the Jones course at Treetops resort last week near Gaylord as an example.

The problem with fall driving here is that by the time I'm out of work I get about 90 minutes of daylight, right at the most active time for deer. I'm guaranteed to see deer on any drive I take near dusk. Takes a lot of the fun out of it when you feel like it's a dice roll to leave the driveway.
