  • Brakes: Turner Disc Brake Kit for 1947 Pickup

    Hello,

Has anyone had experience installing a Turner disc brake kit on a M5 truck? I have a specific concern regarding the need to use a GM wheel. If I must use a GM wheel what, if any, GM wheel will be for a 16" tire 5x5 bolt pattern and still be able to use the "STUDEBAKER" baby moons. I don't have the hubcap diameter off the top of my head, but I would like to still use them to make people think it is still original.

    Thank you

I don't think there is another wheel out there that will work with the Stude hubcaps.

    A couple of things..

I did a Turner disc install on a '52 pickup with factory 15" wheels. I was able to keep the original wheels by using wheel spacers.

I've heard that the factory truck 16" wheels will work with the Turner discs, but I haven't tried it myself.

I have turner disc on my 57 transtar and the stock 16 inch wheels work fine so far.
