ID:	1723669RATS!...went to start the Avanti only to get hear a "click, click, click"....glad it happened here at home in the garage rather than last week on the road to Tacoma! ...oh, the joys of owning an old car!

        It's not that you have an old car, it is that you have an old battery. Place the blame where it belongs. LOL A battery disconnect switch might be a good investment.

            When I have that 'click, click' it is almost always due to a poor battery cable connection.

              I guess my original description was off by a couple of clicks.....it clicks once....and then nothing.....

                  Here is number three....although she is not quite ready for the highway, I did drive her this far out of the garage and back!

                        Most of the time when a starter makes one click then nothing, it turns out to be a bad connection, and usually at the battery posts.
