In today's Mecum auction in California, I noticed a 1962 Lark convertible. Things that I observed; no front bumper, sold for $27.5 K plus premium (IIRC) and the buyer appeared to be about 85 years old.

EDIT: I see that it is was just past midnight when I posted this, so I will clarify the post by saying that the car sold on Thursday (8/23).

All I can say is WOW. In the 80's I passed up a very nice rust free Lark convertible for $800. Studebakers are finally showing their true value.

It looked like a nice car except the front bumper was missing , The guys in the booth even got the facts right about the 289 engine in that nothing interchanges with a Ford ! Ed

I can relate to that. In the late 1960s, I sold my everyday, excellent running, good interior, deteriorating exterior, Lark VIII convertible to a guy that I worked with for $100 and he used it for some time as his work car.
