I've decided that if live to be 145, I won't have enough time to finish all I've started.
What is a '53 Coupe hood worth, assuming very good unbent condition?
Three doors; two front fenders; three back fenders?
Trunk lid with Bondo in the trim holes.
Two Hawk unpitted grilles?
Thanx, Guyshttp://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/images/icons/icon7.png
Back windows with glass. Need rubber,

The last C/K hood, in excellent condition, that I sold went for $50. That was years ago, so probably $250.
The rear fenders have been reproduced, so I would say one-half the cost of the new reproductions ($200 IIRC, so that would be $100).
If the front fenders are not rusty, probably $250 each.
Doors for a coupe, not so much, perhaps $25 each.
Maybe $50 for the trunk lid.

If anyone wants to sell nice C/K sheetmetal at those prices, I'll buy every piece I can get my hands on. :)

Gary,

I hate to say it, but your a little out of touch. Either that, or your for sure pulling our collective legs? The repoop rear quarters are around $500.00 ea. The last really nice dent free, rust free 53-4 hood I had sold for nearly a grand. The NOS one sold for $2k.

Like Matthew said, if someone wants to sell good rust free/dent free C/K sheetmetal for those kind of prices, I'd buy every piece I could get my hands on, too!!!

The repop Goodmark rear quarters are available from rock auto for around $200 or so.

It looks like I am out of touch. These items have gone up tremendously in the last few years since I sold them. Since no one else had offered values, I thought that I would try. Of course, I think that he wants prices for quick and easy sales, not a long wait or large effort.

Just checked. Looks like rear quarters from rock auto are $285.

I don't know if it was timing, perceived condition of the part, or the sales forum we used, but I didn't find what I believed was a reasonable market for a decent 53-54 hood that we presented on eBay. I remember a time, many years ago, buying a whole car for a hood or a rust free front fender. I thought that people would jump at the chance to get a rust free, dent free hood, still with it's original paint on it, but I was wrong. The hood had been in dry storage for 35 years, and is the last of my stash. We were just mystified by the lack of real real interest. It's no longer for sale.

I have found that shipment is a problem for large items, like a hood. This greatly limits bidders, such as on eBay. The last excellent hood that I sold, I sold to a guy from Boston that drove over to NYS to pick it up. When he got here, he found that it wouldn't even fit partially (majority) into his vehicle. He tied it to the roof with rope that I gave him. This was all for $50 to get rid of it.

All most $300.00 plus shipping puts them around $500.00. Cheaper then some of the fellas on Feebay, but still repoops..................

I bought some within the last year and 2 sets (4 fenders) were a little over $1,000 shipping included. The shipping to FL was very reasonable using LTL freight.

You are correct, they are re pops. However, they do fit well and in my opinion, much better than doing all the rust repair.

On the other hand, I hesitate to say how much I paid for a pair of NOS CK front fenders just in case my wife finds out.

Seems that sheet metal is only worth decent money when someone really really needs it. I have poor luck at swap meets, hardly a nibble on the swap pages... Same thing on Ebay etc, it is offered, but rarely sold. Those parts offered above are worth plenty and if I was passing through there or found them near me I surely would grab a few for spares, or a possible future sale.
