Rear Axle: Posi Rear end

I have a 1974 Avanti. I am thinking abut putting a Positive rear en in it. Are there any models that will fit right in.

It probably already has a Twin Traction/Positraction axle in it. Avanti Motors used Dana 44 axles, and most (if not all) were limited-slip. There should be a "44" cast into the rear of the pumpkin at around the 5 o'clock position. If you remove the filler plug, your finger should hit something about 1/2" in.

Shoulda mentioned that even if you do have a limited slip differential, the clutches could be worn out. Any shop specializing in Jeeps or 4wd vehicles will be familiar with that axle and know how to repair it.
