    Hi guys

    Looking for some held decoding the numbers on
    a 62 GT HAWK
    VIN 62v- 25274
    DATA PLATE 62v-k6 5430
    ENGINE PAD P88383

    any help would be great

    It'll show up shortly. Lots of folks here have that info.
    The only one I can tell you is the engine. 289. Is it auto. Or 4 speed?

          Welcome to the world of Studebakers and the SDC Forum.

          What you call a VIN is the Serial Number. It does not contain the information of a modern VIN. The number is just a sequential number of all V8 1962 model cars.
          What you call the data plate is the body number. 62V is a V8 1962 model. K6 is a hardtop Hawk. 5430 is the sequential number of that body style (out of 9335).
          The engine number indicates a 289 cid. The production order will tell you if this is the original engine to the car.

          There is much more information on the production order (ref. to post #3).

              Welcome to the Asylum Cyclone. You are in good company. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people available here and some of them even worked for Studebaker. They have saved me any number of times!
