Champion powered Glaspar Ascot

I know some of you have seen this, but I couldn't find another post on his forum. Clifton Hill from Oklahoma had this car at the MOTAA show and swap on Petit Jean mountain last weekend. Built in 1954 with a body by Glaspar on a 1949 or earlier Champion chassis. This one was called an Ascot and apparently Glaspar only made 5 of these bodies.

I think it is an illusion, but I couldn't say for sure. The car was raced at one some so some "adjustments" could have been made. I wish he could have pushed it a little harder for my video clip, but on the show field it was not a good idea.
I don't know if the proud owner is ever on this page, but here he is.

Yes, the owner pointed out that it had been changed a little over the years.

Some of our chapter members arrived at our cookout that afternoon on motorcycles. If I wanted wind in my hair, I would rather be in something like this little car.

Interesting that before I made my post, I searched the forum for both Glaspar and Ascot and came up empty. I'm not sure what I missed.

Ron Strapel, a member of our Chapter, is restoring a Glaspar Roadster; but I believe it has a Cadillac V-8 engine.
