  • Wheels / Tires: Hawk Gt 1962 jack

The car I bought is missing its car jack. I could just throw in the trunk any old jack but I'd like to have a genuine 1962 Studebaker jack. Anybody got a picture of what they look like? Pictures of how they are affixed in the trunk? Where I could get my hand on one?

Great idea to get an original jack and affix it in the trunk correctly.........................and then just leave it there for looks and get a small scissor jack or bottle jack in case you ever need to raise the car while on a trip.
The bumper jacks were poor when new and have never gotten any better. Good way to mess up the bumper and possible more when the car tips off of it.

X2!! I'd pay for a tow before using one of those bumper jacks.

I have a scissors jack out of my first car (a '68 Datsun 510) plus a couple more picked up over the years that are carried around in the trunks of my various Studebakers.

Pretty much need bumper jack to get car up high enough to get tire/wheel out from under finder, scissor jack won't do it.

There are pictures of the correct jacks in the 59-64 parts book.

Jack up the frame from the side, not the axle.
