  • Anybody know the clown driving this 53?

Isn't that a Canadian Lic. plate?

It is a '53 Champion Sedan that sits really high in front! Unless he has a 454 in it, and has it floored!

I've sunk to a new low. I was googling around and ended up on an Edsel site. Hey, it's an orphan too (kinda). Anyway, I found this clown driving a 53 sedan[)]:

My next Studebaker is in the future, but now getting my hair messed up in a Sebring ragtop!
Almost as fun as a Studebaker!

It looks like a Minnesota license plate. We're all clowns up here.

With the dual fender mount mirrors, it looks like a car from/in a foreign country (except for the Ford and Chevrolet behind him).

Prior to my Cruiser being restored, it had dual fender mounted mirrors. They were evidently dealer installed:

Thats the high boy option AC0001.53B which was taller springs to allow the front to remain higher and go through snowdrifts better.

I seem to remember reading a story about this Studebaker owner in Turning Wheels or on a web site several years ago.
When I get home I'll see if I can find it. Someone in the MN area probably knows the owner.

My '61 Cruiser also has front fender-mounted rear-view mirrors, which are apparently stock. I didn't realize that those were available on other and older models, though.
