  • Nice '55 E7 V8 @ Mecum Portland

'Looks like a doggone nice truck:

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

    G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.

Thanks Bob. Nice Truck! My favorite year and model. All I would do to it is convert it to 12 volts, install an O.D. Trans. and drive the wheels off of it. Not really on the last part, but I WOULD have a smile as wide as the grille while I WAS driving it.
I'm off now to the Quickie Mart to buy that lottery ticket.

This truck was owned by a local collector - mostly MoPar- but a high quality collection. It was purchased at one of the Arizona winter auctions and is clearly a high quality truck. I did sell him some tie rod ends and reach rod ends 2 or 3 years ago. He had his own full time mechanic tending to his collection.
The ad doesn’t say but I recall that it did have overdrive.
No need to convert to 12 volt system just because you don’t like the looks of the battery!

          Very pretty '55!
It has the Really Cool, Silver background 1954 "Studebaker" Oval Hood Emblems, '55's were Red to match the Front Ornament.

          The Battery is an Optima
Sealed Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) 6 Volt, spill-proof type, no need for 12 Volts with THAT!

All it needs to look correct, is a Black Rubber 6 Volt Case.

Agree, '55 was the high point of C-cab styling.

It's missing the V8 emblems on the sides of the hood, bumpers and tailgate are not painted correctly, but where 'ya gonna find better?
