Alright! When both of these cars were produced, the U.S. was still reeling from the Great Depression, bootlegging was still a thing, and the War Production Office would start sharpening their pencils and stocking their filing cabinets for the deluge of government contracts for war material.

First, a 1935 1B Commander Sedan in quite good order. Al Capone eat your heart out!

Then, a 1940 Commander sedan that's fit enough for listening Nat Cole on that vacuum tube radio.

Enjoy!

I've always thought that a 1934 Ford was the prettiest car ever made but that '35 Commander comes close. Studebaker made some pretty cars during their run.

Any idea how much the commander sold for?

... fit enough for listening Nat Cole on that vacuum tube radio.Nat King Cole's first charted solo was "Sweet Lorraine" in 1940. Until his own career exploded he was most heard as piano accompaniment to Billie Holiday.
