I am working on the rear axle of my 56 Champion and discovered a problem with my rear drums. See picture71220

Does anyone have or know where I can get a new, newer or better set than I have? I feel these might be a little unsafe to drive. I prefer with hubs.

Thanks

Can that be placed on a block of steel and pressed or hammered flat?
I'm not familure with the 56, so are they slip on, or are they swaged?

I could possibly do that but the holes are also oblong now.71260

jeeesh... I just dumped a bunch of these at the dump 2 weeks ago. Kept the front V8 drums/hubs. Next thing you know someone will want an AS carburetor and intake/exhaust manifolds.....Swap Page

Once the Swagged Studs have been pressed, or ripped out incorrectly, they are pretty much Toast.

Since Studebaker Drums Center on the Stud Holes NOT the Center Hole to properly "Center" they need to be Swagged onto the Hub like they once were.

Depending on their out of round and oversize, amount they may be junk anyway, time for New ones.

Don, if You run out of options. I have a n.o.s. 9" Drum "Drum only with out Hub" I'd sell if interested.

I've got to believe there are 100's of these out in Studedom in the barn or like mine, in my cellar.

If nothing else, you can always have new holes drilled half way between these. but that would take some precise marking.

I have a large drum inventory here @ the Texas Studebaker Ranch
