Hello SDC,
Over the next month or so I am going on a car search. I have a $14000 budget but I dont need to spend that much . I would like to buy something before spring/summer.... lets call it before May.
I want this car to be a complete driver, I live in NJ and visit MD and PA often. I would like a 1962-66 Lark type and to be honest, Hawks are REALLY growing on me. Automatic is preferred cause this is going to be mostly a cruising car and my left knee has had better days. Im ok with modified car or even ones with different motors. I just want it to be turn key.
Have any of you guys owned a Lark and a Hawk? Any insight on comparing them?
Thanks for spreading the word and look forward to seeing what I cant find on the internet. Which reminds me, I haven't looked in this months Turning Wheel
Im liking this one a lot, its also only 1 hour from me.
UPDATE 2/24/18:
Its pretty wild what you can learn when you are searching for a specific thing, even though it feels like you have been through your research material a million times. This next car will only be the 3rd classic vehicle I have ever owned and I am finding out that I like different cars as I get older. Im turning the ripe old age of 31 in April and Im starting to stop and "smell the roses" from time to time.
Anyways, that being said, I think I am going to start focusing my attention on some longer wheel base models like the Hawk and Commander while I try to find a Cruiser to test.
