  • I have heard this is not possible on Larks

There has been some discussion in the past about pre 1963 sheet metal not fitting 63-66 cars. Yet, here is one to see:

Besides all the grammar/spelling issues, it is not a Cruiser. I don't see the dash so I can't tell if it is a standard, or a regal but guest it is a regal because of the rear panel trim.

Anyone up for a trip to Durango

I've heard that also, but remember seeing a Champ truck with a 66 Lark type front end mounted. do not recall details on hood/cowl fit or what may have or not been done to achieve this. but one thing for sure is the early Lark/Champ Truck Fenders are a little longer at the back edge than the 61 and newer front fenders.

Don't forget that there was LWB models such as taxis and police cars Y1 and Y3 respectively .Some Regal Canadian model sedans 2 and 4 drs had tear drop moldings on the quarter panels . Just my point of view .

I never thought about this before, but is it possible to put the '60 front panel onto the '63 fenders? That might be what was done to this car.

Not a bad looking car. Not necessarily an improvement, but not bad.

Thanks for the laugh! That'll keep me chuckling for a while.

Yes, that 1961 Lark Cruiser nose fits on because 1961 is when the cowl changed (different than 1959-1960 Larks).

Here on the forum it has been said that the change in the cowl took place in 1963 where the wrap around was deleted and that is why the 59-60 front sheet metal would not fit. Just wondering that's all. Not about to go to Durango to find out.

The Cowl change took place with the 1961 models. Note the climatizer intake below the windshield starting with the ‘61 models.
You can not believe everything you read on this forum if someone stated 1963.

The major change in the cowl where the "dog house" mounts was made for the 1961 model year. When the windshield was changed from wraparound for the 1963 model year, the cowl was changed again, but at the ends/sides.

My friend put an 1963 nose with fenders on my 1962 Lark. Perfect fit.

Thanks for all the info. Not that I want to attempt anything like that on my 62 Lark. I will keep her just like she is.
