  • '54 Studebaker sedan parting out

There is non-running '54 four door sedan local to me with no title and some body damage that has just a few interchangeable parts I can use for my '54 coupe restoration. I'm tempted to buy it and part it out, but only if I can recover some of the cost by selling off unneeded parts. The entire front clip is in excellent condition, including the hood, grills and grill surrounds.
Are there parts any of you are looking for?

Unless you need '53-'54 Bumpers, I can not think of a single Body part except the Trunk Handle, that a sedan Part will fit a C or K Body '53/'54.

Grilles are a different angle, Grille Mouldings, Fenders, Doors, Hood NONE will fit, but there are a few people that could use these Sedan/Wagon Only Body Parts.

Maybe you could use the Trans. Brakes or R/Axle or other Mechanical Parts if your's and it are both either Champion Sixes or Commander V8's.

I think the rear bumpers are different too. But, fronts are the same. Headlight rings, rear license plate guard on bumper, door handles inside and out. Some dash trim parts I think. Other than that, mechanical stuff. If it were a '53 sedan, the grill bars but not for a '54. Steering wheels will fit but are 1" larger OD and no clearance the seat if you need it. Most of the usual part out stuff won't fit on a C/K. Probably the defroster assy but not sure about the heater blower as the mounts are probably different. Having the chassis and body manuals on hand is best to be sure what fits where.

I would be interested in the grills and surrounds, wiper motor and switch, trunk handle, tail light bezels L&R, window crank handles. David

Jeff nailed it. Front bumper same as a CK, rear one different.

If it has the gold color horn button, I might be interested. Thanks for sharing this with others, Ken

Is the trunk lid any good?

                    Wilbur,

I hate to say it but without providing a reasonable amount of information on the parts car. First you need to tell us whether it is a Champion or a Commander. Virtually no mechanical parts will interchange between the two models. After you fill in that blank, you need to tell us what you will be using for your own project.

The sedan parts car is a Champion as is my C body. The sedan has a perfect front bumper and rear grill guard, both hit hard on my car. There is also an excellent headlight ring and a few other small interior and exterior chrome parts that I know interchange.

I have no use for any of the body panels and all of the mechanical parts from the sedan.

To answer Mike's question about the trunk lid: someone tweaked it hard when opening with failing hinges so it's not one you would want to invest in.

Still contemplating purchase of this sedan as a parts car. Is the Champion radiator the same between the sedan and the c/k?
