Try Jons transmissions in Alexandria, he's one of Ted Harbits "prior" students. He did a trans for my 62 ragtop, shifted great, and he is honest!

It's a Detroit Gear 3 band, different than a Borg Warner. Maybe you have a Jaguar shop nearby that would know how to rebuild it at hopefully only a slightly higher price![:0]

Clarification on make and name, for 1950 automatic, its a "Borg Warner Detroit Gear 150 3-band" transmission. Commonly called a "Borg Warner DG150" or the "Studebaker Automatic". Studebaker did a few revisions over the next 5 years with the DG200 and the DG250. The last year of Stude use is 1956. However, Jaguar bought the rights and used it for ten years, with ongoing small modifications over the years, mostly to withstand increasing horsepower.

It's a great tranny and a tough one, very advanced for it's time. Keep asking around and you'll find a place that will do it. Check out jag tranny shops, older ones. Ask your local jag car club chapter where to take an old jag DG tranny to, they should know someone.
