Very nice, very rare car. If one wants a pre-WWII Stude, it would be difficult to do better.

I'm ambivalent as to whether I prefer the "one-year-only-art-deco-headlights" over the standard round.

Weighing in on this may be like recommending redheads vs blondes vs brunettes. In the end, they all give you troubles.

Now, if I go with Bob Caser's philosophy that it's a used car, $3,000.00. At least you have a baseline.

This car has several positives. While this unit is very rare, the mechanics and most expendables are available as are people who know how to make them work if you need help. Some really unusual options, most notable are the Bendix shifter and the cathedral headlights. The vacuum shifter can be problematic but enough variations were supplied to Hudson and Auburn-Cord that they can be serviced.

Were I personally in the market, I could see going to $30,000.00. Beyond that, "I'm not there" to quote Kieth Martin.

I saw this car on the Bring A Trailer site the other day. In my opinion the $30k mark is opinion, just because of its rarity. I would love for it to be in my garage....and then reality sets in.

I prefer the looks of a 1937 coupehttps://sp.yimg.com/ib/th?id=OIP.cqHDph92xPmCwyaVrjNH1QHaEK&pid=15.1&rs=1&c=1&qlt=95&w=216&h=121but I cant find one in my price range. Even this one is probably priced over $10,000

As is our wont to wander even more off topic in the darkness of winter, so I remembered these beautiful '37-39 coupes are just too small for me. At the IM in Colorado Springs, there was a near-perfect President coupe and I asked the owner if I might sit in it. Sad realization; it was too small in every dimension to see out safely and operate the controls.
