  • 1956 Commander 2-door wagons available in Carson City NV and San Diego

There's a 1956 Commander Pinehurst 2-door wagon available in Carson City Nevada. There's also a 1956 Commander Parkview 2-door wagon available near San Diego.

both of those are sweet, but after seeing sals54 crownless lid wagon I've been spoiled and would have to give the same treatment to one of these wagons if they were in my garage. The San Diego one seems kind of pricey, and the Carson City owner is playing the stupid (to me) game of I'm open to offers...man up... put a price on that puppy or put it in an auction. Thanks for posting, cheers Junior

Carson City car is interesting but I'll stick to my philosophy.

Would those rear fins be the same as used on a 56J?

The San Diego wagon is one of the last 1956 Commanders from South Bend (not that it matters <G>).

A while back I posted pics of a '56 wagon in northern Nevada filled with tumbleweeds. It looked to be a very solid parts car. pm me if interested.

Don't you just hate it when someone replies to a post and doesn't quote what they are replying to, you have no idea what they are talking about.

I'd still like to have a 56 wagon but would sure prefer the Pinehurst. I think this one has been around awhile. I guess a hot rod shop has it but it's priced way over the top.

No. They are both fiberglass, but the wagon has different fins than the Hawk.

The Carson City Automatic "Pinehurst" is a Parkview, just like the Escondido Overdrive one. Fishermen of DOLLARS!

The Pinehurst wold be my choice, but either would make a really nice car to use for long trips and such. The Pinehurst would make quite a statement where I live, only about 50 miles from Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Yes, if someone out in Studebaker land has or knows where a Pinehurst is, I would certainly be interested in buying one!

You would be hard pressed to get that much out of the San Diego one after you get it redone.

Just a few years ago, I could not give mine away for $1000. Now I'm glad I kept it.
