I was wondering if any blueprints still exist, and if so, is this something I could look at for information?
At the moment I'm wondering about the horn mounts for 1950 Commanders. The left horn was missing on my just purchased 1950 Land Cruiser, and I bought one from French Lake. I just restored it, but was wondering if the mount and hardware ever had any paint or plating to help against rust. I've only seen them with rust, and no sign of paint or plating. I used my CASWELL COPY-CAD home plating kit to give the mount and hardware a coat of zinc, then lightly wire brushed it with a small brass brush. I then give it a light coat of oil, so it would stay rust free for a long time. I like to stay as original as possible, but if doing this will help prevent rust, and still look original, then I'll do it. There are a few other small parts I was wondering the same thing, such as the small metal tab under the clutch pedal, which hits the starter button.
