Now that my car's out of surgery, I'd like some recommendations as to fuel brand, octane, and so forth. My Sky Hawk has a 289.

If it remained a stock rebuild, 87 octane is fine, but try and find ethanol free fuel. Pure-gas.org

Any local airports near you? My car has been modified to run on available contaminated pump gas, but I like to run 100 LL avgas from time to time, especially during the winter when it doesn't get driven as much. Avgas will remain stable for years and your car will like it if you can find it. It's about half the price of 110 race gas......

There's one in Commack, and one in Babylon. Too far to drive for gas? ALL Marinas sell alcohol free gasoline...
